Virtual Mineral Bingo
Who’s up for some Bingo?!? I know I am!
Diamond Dan Publications has given us the permission to use their Mineral Bingo game online so we can play Virtual Bingo. Pieces will be picked daily and posted on this page below. Winning Geo Juniors will get 3 beads to spend at the Trading Post! We don’t want to leave anyone out so even if you are not a Geo Junior feel free to play along with us.
First up, I must give credit where it is due. The hugest “Thanks” goes to Darryl and the folks at Diamond Dan Publications for creating the Bingo game and making this possible. Next, I have to thank Betty, one of our Senior members, for her great sense of humor when she joked about playing Bingo virtually. Another big “Thanks” goes out to Chicago Rocks and Minerals Society for sponsoring the Geo Juniors so we can have some rockin’ fun!
Rules for our Geo Juniors:
Our current Geo Juniors and their siblings are playing for beads. To be fair, I will send you out 1 Bingo card at the start of each game. I will track your beads. You will receive them at the next meeting you can make when ever that will be. (This may not be until fall.) You get 1 bead for playing and 3 beads for winning. You can trade them at the Trading Post next time it is open. When you hit a Bingo, jump up and down, shout BINGO! at the top of your lungs then email me at: info@chicagorocks.org to let me know you’ve won.
You can play with more than 1 card since you do have the full set I already sent out. However, your other cards DO NOT count towards beads. Perhaps you can get your parents to come up with other “prizes” like an extra 30 minutes outside, your pick of what will be for dinner or any other ideas you can talk your parents into.
Rules for everyone else:
Game boards can be downloaded from Diamond Dan Publications. The number of boards you play will be up to you. Prizes will be up to your parent or possibly yourself (if you are a Senior member). (I really wish the Seniors could play for thing like rolls of toilet paper, paper towels or hand sanitizer. ) Prizes can include an extra 30 minutes outside, an extra cookie for dessert (if you have any) or anything else you want to treat yourself to. When you hit a Bingo, throw open your window/door and shout BINGO! at the top of your lungs, pat yourself on the back and know you are a winner!!

For those of you not familiar with Diamond Dan Publications, they have all sorts of books and puzzles relating to rocks and minerals. They have some freebies also! One being this Bingo Game. To download the Bingo cards, click on the link named mineral_bingo.pdf on their Home page. To learn more about each mineral in the Bingo game, click on the link for bingo_booklet.pdf. You will learn a lot of great facts along with the physical properties of each mineral. While you are there, you can also download mineral Go Fish game cards and Vol. 12 No. 4 of the Mini Miners Monthly.
